Within this pasta there are various types of grain used. Amaranth is naturally gluten free and is not a known as a true cereal like rice. It has a high level of fibre, which is easily digestible and is also a great source of proteins, phosphorus, calcium and iron. All of these nutrients help the human body enhance its natural defences so are highly recommended for those with intestine and colon issues. The second is teff, which is the world’s smallest cereal, but is still full of nutrients such as fibre, calcium, potassium and iron. With all of these nutrients it provides a good amount of carbohydrates which are highly digestible. As with other cereals, teff is naturally gluten free and ideal for people with coeliac disease. Thirdly, quinoa is a well-known health food which is becoming an increasingly popular ingredient for people to purchase. Quinoa is not defined as a cereal because it is an herbaceous plant. Quinoa seeds are packed with protein and amino acids which help our bodies function better. They also have a rich content of carbohydrates, starch and vegetable fibre. With all of these combined together, it makes this pasta nutritionally complete and has a delicate taste which suits any sauce.
