For added flavour our Artisan Deli Co. sesame breadsticks have a wonderful mild, yet subtle nutty flavour with the sesame seeds complimenting a plain breadstick perfectly.

For added authenticity our sesame breadsticks have the sesame seeds coated to the outside of the breadstick as opposed to cheaper breadsticks that have the sesame seeds mixed in with the dough and don’t allow the full flavour to be captured.

Wheat flour is used in our breadsticks as its healthier than other flours and contains more fibre. We also use a small amount of sea salt to help extract the most flavour from the breadstick.

The sesame seeds provide a good source of fibre and can help lower cholesterol.

The breadsticks are hand rolled and you can tell this by the shape not being uniform from the tip of the breadstick to the bottom as opposed to machine rolled breadstick that are all the same.

Once the dough has been rolled to the shape of a breadstick it’s gently passed through the sesame seeds to give a thick, dense and even covering around the breadstick. Then they are slow baked until golden brown in colour.

Due to the sesame seeds being coated on the outside of the breadsticks you get hit by strong notes of toasted sesame seeds as soon as you open the pack and a crunchy full yet mild nutty flavour with every crunchy bite.

Our sesame breadsticks are well suited to go with soft cheeses such as cream cheese. You can use them to dunk into the cheese and have as a light snack.

They are also perfect with dips such as hummus, guacamole or taramasalata.

Or for something a little bit different how about smashing up a few breadsticks, warming them in the microwave for 30 seconds and sprinkling them over the top of a couple of scoops of ice cream. A great alternative to traditional sprinkles.
